Argue changed conditions, not just changed quantities

A contract rate carries the conditions it was priced for. Where the varied work is done out of sequence, in occupied areas, at height, or in winter instead of summer, the rate can be adjusted, but only if you say so and show why. Quantity times rate is the start of a valuation, not the end.
