Claim the change even before the price is settled

Leaving a variation off the application until it is perfectly priced feels tidy and quietly costs you the change. Carry it into the account at your honest current assessment, marked as an assessment where the figure is still moving, from the month the work happened. A change claimed every month is far harder for the other side to forget than one that appears, fully formed, at the final account.
