Daywork runs on contemporaneous confirmation - that is the deal: cost-based payment in exchange for records agreed while the facts are fresh. Sheets that go in weeks late, or never, break the deal. By valuation, the supervisor who watched the work has rotated off, the hours look big in hindsight, and what should have been a signature becomes a negotiation from memory.

The fix is procedural, not clever: sheets prepared daily, presented for signature while the work is still visible, escalated the day they come back unsigned - and the contract's daywork terms followed to the letter, because a sheet in the wrong form invites the exact challenge it was meant to prevent.
