Accrue the cost that has been incurred but not yet invoiced

Cost pulled straight from the purchase ledger is always flattering, because the ledger only knows what has been invoiced, and plant on hire, labour worked last week and materials delivered against an order all arrive weeks late. A CVR that ignores them shows a margin that evaporates the month the invoices land. Accrue everything committed or consumed in the period whether or not the paper has caught up.
