The commonest way a negotiation is quietly lost is a later draft that restores a settled clause, slipped back among a page of other edits. Never assume a new draft only contains the changes you expected; read every version against the last, and check the points you won are still won. A clause reinstated unnoticed is agreed by silence the day you sign.
