The monthly payment admin keeps slipping
Applications go out late, notices get missed, and every month the cycle costs me money or sleep.
What's happening?
Construction payment is a monthly machine with hard deadlines, run by people who also have a project to deliver. When the same person doing the applications is also chasing drawings and running site queries, the cycle slips: an application a day late here, an unanswered notice there. Each slip looks small, but under the Construction Act small slips move real money from one side of the contract to the other.
This pattern is common because it is a process problem, not a people problem. The fix is not trying harder in the last week of the month. It is either a process built properly once, with the dates mapped per contract and owned by someone, or handing the whole cycle to someone whose only job is to run it.
