I've already signed and something feels off

It surfaces mid-job: a payment lands short through a clause you never noticed, or their quantity surveyor mentions a time bar, a deadline that can kill a claim if you miss it, and you realise the contract has been working against you since you signed. The instinct is that the moment has passed and the document has won.

Signature ends the negotiation, not the story. Some of what was drafted against you may not survive the Construction Act, however clearly it is printed. The rest can be managed once you know it is there: which notices to serve and when, which records to keep, which arguments to drop because the contract does not support them. A read after signature cannot change the terms, but it changes how you run them, and that is frequently worth more.
